Meet Meerkat Media’s Newest Marketing Intern Hana
How Meerkat’s New Intern Is Using Her Passion for Creativity to Dive into Marketing
With a strong passion for all things creative, Flagler College student Hana is eager to take the next step into the world of marketing. We caught up with her to chat about her experiences with social media and content creation so far, her favorite ways to unwind, and what she’s looking forward to learning in her time with Meerkat. Read on to learn more!
What is your marketing background or experience thus far?
Hello! My name is Hana (HA-Nuh) Tucker and I am currently a student at Flagler College studying digital media production with a minor in advertising. When I was in high school I ran my color guard team’s Instagram page and produced promo videos that highlighted the team. From there I was chosen to be an ambassador for Florida Marching Band Championships (FMBC) which let me run the Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook page featuring content about the competitors across Florida.
After graduating high school I went on and started doing some minor photography work for two small bakeries: Sweet City Cupcakes and Kristen’s Cupcake Cafe. During the Summer of 2020, I was an intern for Florida’s Historic Coast. Part of my duties had me creating content for Instagram stories and producing campaigns. This allowed me to interact more with audiences and understand how to get engagement from people.
What made you decide to pursue marketing?
I am more interested in the creative side of marketing and have been involved with creating content since I was in high school. Marketing in my eyes has its traditional ideas and values, but it will always be constantly expanding and changing within our society. I love the idea of learning something new or seeing the creative visions of others in the world of marketing.
What are your three favorite Instagram accounts you follow?
The top three Instagram accounts I am following right now are Adrianna Guevara Adarme (@acozykitchen), Cristina Mittermeier (@mitty), and Girls Who Hike FL (@girlswhohikefl).
A Cozy Kitchen is a cooking page that has an amazing aesthetic that I love. Mitty is a National Geographic photographer who does amazing underwater photography work. Girls Who Hike FL, is an awesome page to find locations throughout Florida to hike and offers amazing tips and information for people planning their next hike

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my free time, I enjoy taking photographs, baking, sleeping, writing, kayaking, and driving to some of the springs in Florida, my favorites being De Leon and Ichetucknee Springs. I try to enjoy my time outside when I am away from my computer as much as possible.
What are you excited to learn at Meerkat?
I am excited to work with the team at Meerkat Media, to develop content and engage with followers. I know I have a lot to learn as an intern when it comes to the world of marketing, and I am excited to gain this new experience.
